Emotion Pathway®

When something that happened
is still affecting you.

Emotion Pathway® gives people a practical, trauma-informed skill they can use for themselves, without needing to disclose, talk through or relive what happened.

It's designed to help change or reduce the emotional response itself, alongside existing organisational, wellbeing and clinical support, not as a replacement for it.

The gap it addresses

There is often a large space between recognising that something is affecting you and needing professional support.

Emotion Pathway® adds practical capability in that space. It does not replace safeguarding, wellbeing, clinical support, EAP, occupational health or counselling. Those pathways remain important and available where needed. Its purpose is different: to give people a structured process they can apply themselves when an experience continues to trigger an emotional response.

What Emotion Pathway® is

A practical skill for the space before additional support is needed.

Practical

A structured, self-applied skill people can use themselves.

Content-free

It can be learned and used without requiring someone to disclose, talk through or relive what happened.

Alongside support

Existing organisational, safeguarding, wellbeing and clinical pathways remain important and available where needed.

Emotion Pathway® is not therapy or diagnosis, not Mental Health First Aid, and not primarily an awareness or signposting programme. Each serves a different, important purpose.

The framework

Five stages. One complete process.

  1. 01Recognise
  2. 02Reassure
  3. 03Release
  4. 04Return
  5. 05Reflect

The five stages provide a structured pathway from recognising that something is continuing to affect you, through the self-applied process, to noticing and reflecting on what has changed.
